The Fraser Valley Breakfast Club.
Heard the phrase?
If yes, we know you’re either a regular or waiting in anticipation for our next event.
If not, keep reading. We promise you’ll want in on this can’t be beat business networking event.
The Fraser Valley Breakfast Club was born to build, support, and empower the business community of the Fraser Valley, British Columbia.
Why all the effort?
Quite simply, I had a tantrum. I loathed the idea of driving to Vancouver for another networking event.
I wanted to network in my community.
The Fraser Valley is a large corridor with plenty of businesses looking to expand and grow. So why go into the city if I didn’t have to? Surely I wasn’t the only person who felt this way. And unsurprisingly, I wasn’t. So Sofia Arisheh of Upskill Consulting and I put our heads together and thought we’d create a small but mighty gathering of like minded people and asked them what they wanted.
Build it and they will come
Our small but mighty group spoke… and we listened.
They wanted to learn about interesting things that could impact their business. Things like modern networking practices, marketing, team building and more. They also wanted a social, fun atmosphere… in the evening (what?!)
Since Sophia and I felt the best time for networking was at the beginning of the day we chose the name Breakfast Club which was the name of an event the team at Incrementa has hosted in Vancouver since 2017.
With our commitment to the name and the resounding feedback of the Fraser Valley folks wanting an early evening event, we decided serving brinner (breakfast for dinner) was the solution. Memorable and delicious all at the same time.
We offer a feedback survey so we can continue to ask the community what they want to hear about and how they want the event structured to meet their needs. This way it remains collaborative.
We host the Breakfast Club bi-monthly and charge a nominal fee (to cover food and venue). This isn’t a business model—it’s a commitment to serving our colleagues and the community.
Growth through giving
In addition to building a strong networking opportunity we’re also committed to community giving.
Each attendee is asked to bring a ten dollar bill that they drop off as they pick up their name tag. The contributions are collected and donated that evening to the charity of choice.
Our recent event included Angus Reid as our speaker. We had 45 people register for the catered event and raised over $200 for the West Coast Kids Foundation—a charity that the Incrementa family works tirelessly for.
As part of our feedback survey, we ask attendees to share charities they’re passionate about, that we can help as many charities as possible. Build, support, empower.
The Fraser Valley Breakfast Club is a networking platform built by the business community to serve the business community. We may do the leg-work but you make it happen.
What started as a pity party and temper tantrum about commuting downtown, has now become a labour of love as we build a business community based on support and growth.
Thank you to those who have been a part of it and we welcome those who have yet to attend. And don’t miss out on our April 7 event. Tickets now available!
