Client: Leitz Tooling
Industry: Tool Manufacturing

Find out how Incrementa helped Leitz’s Managing Director for Canada embrace her new leadership role to build a cohesive team and develop the processes necessary to drive successful growth.

The Story

Leitz Tooling is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and distributors of precision tools for the woodworking, non-ferrous, and plastic machining industries. Leitz Tooling Canada is a sales and distribution organization that supplies tools from headquarters in Germany to Canadian customers.

Before Leitz Canada could focus on scaling the business, they needed to build their sales team and become intentional about their culture. Leitz’s managing director was new to the role and called on Mike Knapp for business strategy coaching to help create a strong team foundation and then tackle issues necessary for growth.

Business leaders often learn the hard way that you can be the best salesperson in the world, but that skill set is not guaranteed to translate to the rest of your team- at least not without the right disciplines and processes in place.

Incrementa worked with Leitz to formalize a company culture, hire the right people for the right positions, create a clear vision, develop their strategic differentiation, then set a roadmap of quarterly goals.

The next task was to put a structured sales process in place. This ranged from establishing a flow for new customers and embedding that in the CRM to creating sales forecasts and dashboards that empower Letiz leadership to make the right decisions.

Working with Incrementa enhanced the managing partner’s decision-making abilities, allowing her to confidently build a great team. The considerable amount of time spent on sales processes, designing check-in points, and follow-up processes paid off with a significant increase in sales.

From Lesley Morris, Managing Director for Leitz Canada:

“Since our planning meetings with Mike there has been a new level of connection and team spirit with the leadership team. We all agreed that we got so much out of our two days. It’s changed us, invigorated us, and brought us closer together. I want to thank Mike for everything he is doing for us.”
